Savuti Channel - Since it started flowing again in early 2008, the channel has provide us some magic moments. It has certainly changed the animal movements, pushing some out and allowing others in. That is the beauty of this natural system. We get to watch nature in action a she goes about her business.
Chitabe - Giraffe family in late afternoon light. You can still see part of the umbilical cord attached to the young one. Even its horns have yet to develop properly which indicates that it is only a few weeks if not days old.
Chitabe - The awesome power of a bull hippo charging through a pan. This chap was not happy with the vehicle and decided to let us know it!
Chitabe - Impala ears. People often overlook these animals as they are so plentiful. Watch them and enjoy their antics as well as the great opportunities they give to photographers
Chitabe - Young male impalas testing each others strength and agility. Soon enough it will be rutting season and these two gents will be attempting to challenge for territory and access to females.
Chitabe - What a sight! Zebras and Wattled Crane on a green carpet in summer.
Chitabe - as elusive as always. I love the way leopards can simply disappear into the grass. One begins to get an appreciation for their stalking ability and the patience in ambushing their prey
Chitabe - A forest of dead limbs. Some time ago these tress died when the nearby channel stopped flowing. Now they are a testament to the dynamic nature of the Okavango Delta
Vumbura - Mother and daughter. This young female was trying to play with her mother but she was not having much luck. Considering her size she is probably close to 18 months, the age when they are likely to leave their mother and start a life of their own. This photo also shows how a red filer on a spot light works. No unnatural glare or eye shine.
